About DAMO Session

DAMO session is dedicated for defining future coming technical problems, identifying possible solutions and sharing the view and vision on the solution among the experts. DAMO session removes any formalities and is committed to bring up in-depth technical discussion in casual, informal, yet serious manner. This year's DAMO session specifically focuses on technical problems which may arise in future multi-tera byte SSD's with sub 40 nm multi level or hyper multi-level cell NAND chip. We carefully choose three main issues for next generation SSD: (i) error/reliability issue, (ii) SSD scalability issue, and (iii) E/W cycle issue. Error/reliability issue is discussed in two finer domains: ECC/Signal processing issue at SSD physical layer and RAID like approach at SSD controller level. There will be total of four sessions. Each session begins with two or three position statements followed by discussion among the participants.
